Are You Ready to See the Numbers?

Country: PHILIPPINES

Number of Rural poor (million) (approximate) , 2004 31.2
Poor as % total rural population, 1997 50.7
Population living below $1 a day (%) , 2000 15.5
Population living below $2 a day (%), 2000 47.5
Population living below the national poverty line (%), 1997 36.8

According to UNICEF, 26,500-30,000 children die each day due to poverty. And they “die quietly in some of the poorest villages on earth, far removed from the scrutiny and the conscience of the world. Being meek and weak in life makes these dying multitudes even more invisible in death.”Source

this is the saddest part about our country, despite having rich natural resources that our countries are exploiting.

I think this issue stems down on government mismanagement and poor implementation of the law.
