Survivor Recap: He Has Demons

After a boring pilot, things are starting to heat up at Survivor: South Pacific. Last week, Semhar was voted off the Savaii tribe after revealing her weakness at the Immunity Challenge. Then she complained about people lying straight to her face when she reached Redemption Island. Welcome to Survivor, Semhar!

New iPod Touch with Games

I was planning to buy a PSP slim (i know I'm such a loser for not owning one yet! i know!) for quite some time now. I was planning to buy one from my own money and so far according to my calculations, I'd probably get one by next month. I had a dilemma once and it involved being torn between PSP and iPod Touch. I liked iPod Touch solely because of its touchscreen navigation control and decided that PSP would be the better buy since it actually has most iPod features and the fact that I could play PS titles on a very portable gadget. But then, I came across this...

So the dilemma arises once again. Of course PSP would have the better lists of games that I could play but come on we are talking about Apple here. They make techies' wildest dreams come true in a blink of an eye. I'm sure that by next year, more titles would be play-able on the iPod Touch! Right now they have titles like Crash Bandicoot, Need for Speed Undercover and Spore to name a few. And yeah, does anyne know if these games are available now here in the Philippines? Argh! There's so much to save up for. I wanted to shop-wiki for my Mom cause next month she'll be celebrating her birthday. I'm actually thinking of giving her clothes. Then of course, the firs Big Buy! Argh!!! Help me decide on what to get? I still have a month to think about this and I don't want to regret my first ever Big Buy from my hard-earned money.

Zero to Three

It was my good friend , Red, who pointed it out to me. At first I was "No way! It can't be!". I mean there has to be something wrong. How SPOON LAGOON got an instant Page Rank of 3 after just 2 months in the blogscene is a mystery to me. It is so freakin' hard to get a PR 1 in 2 months but I actually got a three. I've checked it out on oh so many sites but they all say the same. Spoon Lagoon has a PR of 3!?! In case you are wondering if i resorted to any page rank increasing gimmicks, no I didn't. I'm thinking there must have been something wrong with the Google systems or something like that. Paging GOOGLE! Please don't take it back! Please don't. Pleaaaaaseeeee!!!!
.
Another thing. Thank you all for noticing my new template. It was an unscheduled renovation of my site. The RSS image of my previous template was messed up (NOT BY ME!) by photobucket. Since this was not the second time my previous template messed up, I decided to make the big switch. More organized, yes! But the problem is I'm having a hard time putting other codes I wanted (i.e. blogomus). Oh well, I'll figure it out next time.
.
Oh yeah, could you please pray for me?!? I would be seating for an exam this sunday. Notice the "no room for mistake" post? That was what I was referring to. I can't discuss any further details about it because I don't wanna jinx this opportunity. I badly need it. So guys, can I count on you?

So That's What You Call Work?

I'm working. I think? Haha. So after graduating last march and passing the boards last July, I just got work! I have been training for this cert company for almost two weeks now and I must say I am enjoying it so far. Except for my work being on a night shift (no, I am not a "pay for sex guy"), I find the work pretty easy..for now at least. I'm still on training so I shouldn't be verey confident. Thng is it doesn't really look like work to me. Regulars in the office would eat at their desk, sleep when they want to, talk like friends while working... I mean come on! Is that what you call work?

I say I have made a really good decision choosing this job. I could have been working since after I passed the boards but I chose not too because this was the company I wanted to work for. It took them so long to hire me but dang! I am having a blast. The work is so laid back. People there are pretty nice too. And sometime next month, we would be moving to a new office which is way cooler than what we have now. Think plasma TVs and Nintendo Wiis few steps away from our desks! How kewl is that! Haha.

Now, I'm still wondering what should I do with my first pay check! That would be the very first money I played hard for...I mean "worked" hard for. Sigh...

Job Application from Hell

The alarm was set to ring at 6 AM. I woke up at 8. Shit! But instead of hurrying my ass to dress up, I decided to take my time preparing for the day ahead. It was past 10 AM when I got off the PUV. In front of me is the network of buildings and I thought where the heck was I supposed to go. Meters away form me, I found a guard to ask. "Oh Company W! Their office is at that building," the guard said pointing to a structure a kilometer away. WTF!?! How am I supposed to get there when there's no Jeep, Bus, Taxi or even a trike passing by? Walk?!? Sigh. Then walk it is.

Walking under the angry sun never thrilled me. Most specially when you're wearing a gray long sleeves polo on your way to an interview. Not only would you sweat like an ice-cream slowly melting, you'd have that characteristic smell of butyric acid even though you've used up every bottle of antiperspirant in your desk. I got at the building seven minutes after and was greeted by another guard. "I'm applying for company W?".

"Sir, they have moved to that building right there. they don't have an office in this building anymore." SHIT! That was near the spot I got off the PUV! I wanted to go back and kick the guard's ass for making me walk under the sun to the wrong building, but then I thought he doesn't deserve the calories that I'd be burning for him. And so, I started to walk again squinting my eyes because of the sun's blinding rays.

I entered the building and saw a long line at hte front desk. Visitiors pass i presume so I positioned myself at the back of the line. After what seems like ages (the girl behid the counter was ssoooo irritatingly slow), I was next. "ID please!" the girl siad. Shoot! I don't have any of my Identification cards. I went trough the folder I was holding and looked for anything that could pass for an ID but all that's there were photocopies of the requirements the company told to bring. Double Shoot! I showed every single paper to the girl but she refused to hand me a visitor's pass. Thinking I've already played all of my cards, I turned my back on the desk and headed straight to the exit.

I went there for nothing! I was looking at the jacket I brought ( I brought one becuse I thought its going to rain, but it was sooo sunny!). This was the same jacket I brought when I applied for Company P, and I kept My ID inside one of its pocket right here...HA! My ID is still here! So looking like I've just won a million bucks I headed straight to the desk and got my visitor's pass. Yeay! But the day did not end there.

I am used to job application where I would be applying with probably 2 or 3 other applicants. Mst will be 8. Never in my wildest dreams would I imagine to sit in a lobby with 50 or more applicants! And that was the scene I walked into at Company W. I was surprised at the least. The gruard asked for my resume and made me wait in a corner since all seats are taken, some of which are shared by two applicants. I waited. And waited. And waited.

There were people of every kind. One that caught my interest was "espasol girl". Of course that's not her real name. I gave her that name becuase of her face that looked as if 5 bottles of face powder were used to lighten up her skin. When she walks around, you'll see a trail of white powdery substance falling off her face. She kept me entertained while I was waiting for my turn.

"Mr. ___,". Oh that's me. I was about to go inside the room when Espasol girl stood up. Wait. I heard my name. Did they call me or her? The interviewer called out my name once again so I nodded and went for the door. While I was entering the room, Espasol girl "Ah siya pala. Kala ko John Brian," ESPASOL GIRL is a boy! Haha...

Deutsche Zunge

Guten Tag! Ich Bin Jowell und ich lerne Deutsches zu sprechen. Lolz. That's my desperate attempt to speak German. If there are German readers out there please correct my first sentence if it needs to be corrected. Bitte... Hahaha. Most people I know, when given the chance to learn a foreign language, prefer to learn either French, Japanese and some Korean (I blame the sudden popularity of Koreanovelas here in the country). But no one that I know of, wants to learn German. I DO! I so do.

That's why I signed up for an online German Class early this month and my German class started last Monday. I am having a blast! It is hard but I'm getting better. I'm just learning the basics right now like pronunciation of the letters, introduction, expressions, family names, etc. They give me tests after every lessons and it is helping me a lot. I initially wanted to study the language by reading a book but then I wouldn't be able to learn how to pronounce the words, right? So I opted to look for an online class instead. The thing I like most is the fact that they would tech you to pronounce the words correctly! And gawd, is it hard to pronounce the German "R"! Hahaha... you kinda have to roll your tongue to produce the sound but I'm really having a hard time doing so.

I try to speak German in the house but my sisters give me weird looks when I do. Hehehe...One of these days after my German class I'll try to write an all-German entry just to practice. But that would not happen until 3 months form now. Hehehe...So until then, tschüss.

Earthquake?!?

From The Blue Addictions January 29, 2008

Have you ever wished the earth to crumble and swallow you in? I have!!! Lots of times, actually. I wanted that to happen when I got stuck with an annoying friend in a long ride home, when I arrived at school only to find out my fly was open, and the time when I had to talk to my crush with a face with really bad acne. But there is this one incident that I just wanted all havoc to happen just to escape form the embarrassment I had to deal with. That was during my sophomore year in college. I was in a Jeepney...

It is very seldom that I see High school classmates in my university so when I do get the chance to see them, I always say hi at the very least. And if I see High School friends at school, man, a very long talk should immediately follow.

It was Saturday morning. I was about to attend my NSTP class somewhere in Manila. We were student-teachers that time. I took up Literacy Training Program for my NSTP not to tutor some grade 5 student but to escape hardwork I would have put myself into had i signed up for ROTC or CWTS. To get to the school, you have to ride a jeep. So I stepped into the jeepney. It was half-empty and we had to wait for more passengers so I looked around. Then I saw Rafael, my high school classmate. He goes to UST too. What are the chances that we could be enrolled in the same LTS program right? So I immediately said hi. But to my horror, Rafael was not Rafael. I thought he was Rafael, but he isn't! He was soembody else who looked like him. (cue in horror music...)

I can never forget the way he looked at me that time. It was as if he was saying "Wha..Who me? Do I know you?". Gawd! I wanted to melt there and then. I wished for an earthquake, a tornado, a volcano eruption! I was so ashamed of myself! I thought of going down the jeepney but that would make me a...LOSER. Gawd! You could just imagine how red I was that time. For once I wished I was invisible girl. STUPID ME!!!

Start from Scratch

Willkommen in "Spoon Lagoon"

Another Blog?
This is officially my (counts...), oh wait, I've lost count of the blogs I've authored and left floating in the blogosphere. My guess is this would probably be my 8th blog. Now I wouldn't promise that I'll never make a "Blog Leave" because I am sure that when the going gets tough for me, hibernation is the key!!! Hey, it rhymes! Nyahaha...

So, why blog again? I was inspired to blog again by my friend Madel. She started her very first blogspot and I kinda miss having one so I made this blog you're reading right now! I used to author "The Blue Addictions" and I actually wanted to update that rather than creating a new one but I think its corrupted.

What's in a name? Spoon. Lagoon. Spoon. Lagoon. Spoon. Lagoon. Spoon. Lagoon. Spoon. Lagoon. Spoon. Lagoon. Spoon. Lagoon. Spoon. Lagoon. Isn't it easy to remember? That's what you call strategy! Nyahaha...

Why come here? Because "Spoon Lagoon" is 10 times better than "The Blue Addictions", that's why. This blog is from the same author who made you laugh your a*s off, question some of your most dearest principles in life, updated you with what's hip with the movie, music and many more. Just visit this freakin' blog dammmit!!!

So, yeah... Hope youguys could visit this blog regularly. Hopefully I could update this at least 3 times a week. By the way, I would be republishing some posts from The Blue Addictions here are at Spoon Lagoon. Don't worry, only the best ones!!! Nyahaha...
