Quacquarelli Symonds, through The Times Higher Education, released the QS World University Rankings 2008 where the 500 best universities from around the globe were recognized. Though it has been receiving negative feedbacks and questions on the accuracy of their statistical methods since it started, the QS World University Rankings is now on its 4th year. And since 2005, only 4 universities form the Philippines have been cited. This year, Ateneo overtook the state college University of the Philippines as this year's Philippines Top University.
Ateneo de Manila University - no. 254
University of the Philippines - no. 276
De La Salle University - no. 401-500*
University of Santo Tomas - no. 401-500*Yeay! Viva los hijos de Santo Tomas !
*Precise ranking of the top Universities from 401-500 were withheld due to high sensitivity to error, thus UST and DLSU were ranked 401-500

ADMU beats UP for the second consecutive year as the blue school saw its ranking soar 20 spots from 254th to 234th as against UP's ranking from 276th to 262nd in this year's Times Higher Eductation QS World University Rankings 2009.
